On Sunday, March 15, 2026, AB Gladsaxe makes the long trip to North Jutland, where Thisted FC hosts at Sparekassen Thy Arena (Lerpytter Stadion). Referee Benjamin Seferovic will kick off the match at 3:00 PM, assisted by linesmen Christoffer K. Oredsen and Aidin Esmaeli.

Thisted FC got off to a really strong start to the season and spent a long period in 1st place in the autumn in the CampoBet 2nd Division.Thisted FC currently sits 5th in the CampoBet 2nd Division and played 0–0 away against VSK Aarhus in their first match of the spring season.

It’s AB who have to take revenge. AB lost the first match of the season between the two teams back in August, 2–3 at Gladsaxe Stadium. AB made it 1–1 when Marcus Immersen scored a penalty against his former club. Tobias Hageltorn equalised for AB to make it 2–2 before Christian Wagner, who now plays for Sandvikens IF in Sweden, scored the decisive goal to make it 3–2.

AB’s play was disjointed and slow. Now AB’s team are in a completely different place, and we should expect a much better performance, even though it’s on a very tough away ground that has caused AB problems before.
At Sparekassen Thy Arena, the match is played on a grass pitch, which—especially because of the time of year—can be bumpy and soft. It will be interesting to see how AB will approach the game—and whether it will involve more long balls than we’re used to seeing—time will tell. In any case, AB have been training on grass at Skovdiget in recent days to be as prepared as possible.
AB also goes into the match with plenty of optimism after the team opened the spring season with a 3–0 win over HIK. With that result, AB sit comfortably in 1st place in the CampoBet 2nd Division.

Adrien Koudelka says the team will adapt to all conditions: “It will be a tough match against Thisted. We’ll be playing on a grass pitch, which probably won’t be that good after the harsh winter. So it will be difficult to play on, and we need to be prepared for long balls and set-piece situations.
Thisted have a lot of quality and they’re a good team. We also have quality and players with physicality, so we can match them. It will be a physical match, very intense, with long balls and lots of duels. First we’ll take a look at the pitch, and then we’ll adapt.”

We lost the first match against Thisted partly because of two long throw-ins, so we need to be ready for that, and we’ve also focused on it in training. We’ve had a good training week, and of course spirits were high early in the week after the win over HIK. It was a tough match at the start, where we had to get back into the flow again and we also made a few mistakes.
Now the focus is on the Thisted match and the tough away ground we’re going to. We need to show our qualities, and as a defender, I’d of course like to keep another clean sheet in Sunday’s match,” Adrien Koudelka concludes.

Head coach Fannar Berg Gunnólfsson believes the players are mentally ready as well:
“It will be completely different playing in Thisted. We’ll be playing on grass for the first time this year. It’s probably not the best pitch we’ll be playing on after the coldest winter in Denmark in years.

So we expect to be playing on a difficult surface, and we need to be ready for that. Thisted are a strong team who are really good in set-piece situations. We need to be especially alert and sharp there. The last time we played Thisted, we lost after a long throw-in, and we’re fully aware that we need to pay attention to that.

We need to be clinical, and the players have to be ready to go into the match with fight and intensity—and I believe the players are mentally ready for what it takes,” Fannar Berg Gunnólfsson concludes.
