Akademisk Boldklub A/S has signed center back Aidan Bardina Liu. Liu, 26, has signed a two-year deal until June 2028. Liu spent the 25/26 season with SK Austria Klagenfurt in Austria’s second-tier 2. Liga. He started 29 games for Klagenfurt during the 25/26 season, adding 2 goals and 2 assists.
"Aidan is an exciting player who fits perfectly with the way we want to play football. His aggressive approach and fearlessness as a defender will be a great addition to the squad. I'm looking forward to welcoming him into the dressing room, and I'm delighted that we've been able to bring him to the club," said Head Coach Fannar Berg Gunnólfsson.
Prior to Klagenfurt, Liu was with HNK Sibenik in Croatia’s first-tier SuperSport HNL in 2025 and Germany's Viktoria Berlin from 2023-25. He has also played for B68 Toftir and Vejle.
“Liu is a very good athlete with pace, who is very aggressive and strong in aerial duels,” said Sporting Director Jen Chang. “He’s had previous experience in Denmark and is familiar with the football culture here, and has a lot of quality experience in recent years as a starting central defender in Austria, Germany and the Faroe Islands.”

Liu started his youth career in the USA with Sockers FC before joining HB Koge U19s in 2018 and then Vejle U19s in 2019. He started his youth career in Denmark as a striker before making the conversion to central defender.
