Österlen FF awaits

Later today AB Gladsaxe will play on the 3rd training match. Once again, the trip goes across the Øresund and this time to Simrishamn, where the local club Österlen FF awaits.

The match will be played at Skillinge Idræts Park, Skillinge IP, 276 36 Simrishamn and kicks off at 19:00.

Österlen FF plays in the Swedish 2nd division – Södra Götaland. In the 2023 season, Österlen FF finished in November in a very disappointing 12th place for them. This meant that they had to play a nerve-wracking relegation game. Over two games against Lilla Torg from Malmö, however, Österlen FF managed to win both encounters and they will therefore also play in the 2024 season in the 2nd division. Österlen FF is also in full swing with friendly matches and most recently won 6-0 against the 3rd division team

FC Trelleborg.

AB goes to Österlen FF to get the first win in the start after a 2-3 defeat against Trelleborg FF and most recently with the 2-2 draw in the match against their division colleagues from FA 2000.


Head coach David Roufpanah says: “First of all, I would like to thank Österlen FF for lining up for this training match. We got a late cancellation for a training match and it was very difficult to find a new opponent. We’ve changed the details of our game a bit and we’ve also got new players. So we have worked a lot on the foundation of our game. We use these pre-season friendlies to test our tactics and different ways of playing. We put the pieces of the puzzle together so that it forms a whole picture when the season starts. So the training match on Wednesday is a further development of the first two training matches.”



“We are testing some new things and we will probably also see some new players in the starting line-up. We hope that we can get some good sequences that we can build on and we will also do that in the next game and the next game etc. It is an ongoing process to develop the team, a process that will never stop. But we have come a long way. We can handle more situations much better now than we could before. There will be times in the matches that players may feel uncomfortable in. But now the players can solve those situations much better than before. So things are progressing really well and it will be exciting to see where we stand after another week together. We train again on Thursday after which the players have an extended training-free weekend, so the players can gather some strength and be fresh, as we enter the last two weeks before the start of the tournament. They have been through a really tough start since the beginning of January.”
