Celebration Day at Gladsaxe Stadium for the Last match in CampoBet 2nd Division

AB Gladsaxe will play match number 32 and thus the last match of the season on Saturday, June 6, 2026, when Thisted FC visits Gladsaxe Stadion. The match referee Mikkel Thomsen will kick off the match at 2:00 PM, and the linesmen are Søren Lehmann and Søren Lykke Thomsen.
When AB takes to the pitch for the final match, it will be with 22 wins, 2 draws and only 7 defeats under its belt. This gives a total of 68 points before the final match and a superb 1st place and promotion, which was already secured four matches ago. Even worse things happened for AB, who were sent home to Gladsaxe from JHH Park in Næstved with a 4-1 defeat. AB probably played their worst match of the season. It was probably only Noah Engell’s goal, where he ran from his own half of the field and all the way to Næstved’s goal and out-scored Næstved’s goalkeeper, that could be applauded in that match. It was a 1-1 equalizer.
So it is clear that these are two teams that will do everything to end the last game of the season better than the penultimate. These are two teams that often play very close games. The last game between the two teams was also close with a 2-1 win for AB in Thisted. Thisted FC takes fourth place in the table with 48 points.
There will be a good chance to see Milan Silva Rasmussen on the pitch. Milan was voted the profile of the year in the 2nd division by the players from the 2nd division during the week.
Adam Ingi Benediktsson is back in the squad after returning from international duty in Japan with the Icelandic national team. Søren Ilsøe is also back in the squad after serving his suspension.

Søren Ilsøe says that now a new chapter must be written: “The season is almost over, and when I look back, I think a lot of things have happened both on and off the field. There have been ups and downs, and now we are here. It has been great when I sum it up with the last training session today and the 31 games that we have played. It has just been an insanely cool journey that we as a club and team have been on and also to experience the way we have grown. It has been rewarding for all of us.
We have a holiday after tomorrow, and we have just been introduced to what we are going to do during the holiday, for example we have a running program.
When we arrive at the beginning of July, we will start very hard. We will all have to go in and fight for the places again. We know each other so well now and we know the style of play. It may be that the opponents play differently in the 1st division, but we know what we have to do. Things will probably have to be done a little faster and with a little more maturity, because it is a higher level that we are coming to.
I believe we will win a lot of games, but it will probably be difficult to score the most goals in the league. It’s a new chapter – we just have to go out and write it.
Tomorrow is a celebration day when the match against Thisted is over. We have had a really hard week of training – there has been no point in us now being up so we can relax. The only day we have been allowed to do a little competition is today, which has been the last training of the season. We have done exactly the same as we usually do with great seriousness. We are coming to win tomorrow, we don’t want to just let the match go.
Thisted has been a very equal opponent for us and they have done really well in the promotion game. They are difficult to play against, and we have also lost to them before. But a lot has happened since then, so it will be exciting to see how we handle the game. I think it will be an explosive game, where there will be many chances, but we must never underestimate Thisted. They have a good game concept and they know what they want, so it will be good”, concludes Søren Ilsøe.

Head coach Fannar Berg Gunnólfsson says it is fantastic to have reached the goal: “I am very proud of the fantastic season we have had. We have done an impressive job, and we have shown entertaining football. We have been cynical when it was required. We have had injuries in the squad, but we have never complained or used it as an excuse. It has been powerful to see the many small steps that have been taken on the way to where we are today. Everyone pushed each other forward, so we got better day by day.
The entire staff and everyone from top to bottom in the club have pulled in the same direction. It’s absolutely fantastic how it has all developed.
Tomorrow is the last match, and it’s against Thisted. We’ve played against them several times, and they’ve been tough matches. Thisted is a very physical team, we know what they’re up to, but it can also be difficult to play against them if they get their rhythm going. It’s actually been difficult to play against them and I expect Thisted to come with the intention of ruining the party we’re going to have. But we won’t let that happen, and we’ve talked about it being a normal match that we have to win.
We want to win tomorrow, because in a few weeks we will play the first match in the Betinia LIGA. Of course the result is not relevant, but when we play a good match, we usually win – so I want AB to play an energetic and beautiful football match.
