Annual report 2025: Building for the future

Dear AB community,

When we took over the management of AB A/S at the end of 2022, we did so with a clear and realistic operating plan that was designed to create stability in the 2nd division, while at the same time systematically building a foundation for sustainable growth after a promotion. Looking back at our 2025 results, we see significant progress both on and off the pitch – a clear confirmation that our long-term vision for this historic club is well underway.

Sporting success and promotion

On the sporting side, 2025/26 delivered fantastic results on the pitch, which created momentum for a sublime spring season that culminated in a championship and our long-awaited promotion. The squad really found its rhythm and performed exactly the kind of offensive and energetic football that we want to define AB. We now look forward to competing in the Betinia League and continuing to build on this exceptional momentum.

Commercial structure and investments in infrastructure

Off the pitch, our commercial structure is undergoing a significant transformation. The strategic partnership between Five Castles Football Group and our minority partner, Green Owls Football Holdings, continues to develop positively. Together, we are focused on expanding our commercial reach and expect significant revenue growth from the end of 2026.

True progress requires targeted capital. While our player salaries have been at a similar level over the past three seasons, we have deliberately implemented a significant increase in investments in infrastructure and related costs. These resources will be targeted at the club’s core business – modernising our internal systems, expanding our media and communication channels, and improving the overall matchday experience at the stadium for fans both locally and globally.

Collaboration with the local community and academia

A crucial part of our identity continues to be the integration of young players. Our relationship with the parent club AB and the academy continues to produce remarkable results, and we want to recognize them for all their successes in the past season, especially the U19 team’s impressive path to the cup final.

At the same time, our collaboration with Gladsaxe Municipality remains a cornerstone of our identity. We look forward to soon being able to share more new stadium initiatives, and we want to extend a sincere thank you to the municipality for the collaboration to create a lasting and positive effect in the local community.

Financial performance and own funds

Our disciplined financial approach also delivers tangible results. We succeeded in increasing revenue in 2025 and ended the year with an operating loss of DKK 18.5 million, which is within the expected level for the financial year. This deficit was directly due to the deliberate increase in investments in infrastructure and related one-off costs – such as our new LED system in the stadium – as well as the hiring of additional sales and marketing staff to prepare us for a new phase of growth in partnerships.

Looking ahead, AB A/S continues to have a strong capital foundation with access to additional capital if necessary. Although the promotion to the Betinia League was a crucial strategic step on the way to making the club financially self-sustaining, the commercial foundation we have built contributes with an extra dimension of long-term stability. At the same time, we have great respect for the inherent unpredictability of sport and therefore continue to plan responsibly and long-term.

We are deeply humbled by the responsibility of leading a club with such proud traditions and such a strong history as AB, and our daily focus is to continue to develop a club that can make you proud.
