Akademisk Boldklub A/S has signed 20 year old winger Jermain Fernandes

Akademisk Boldklub A/S has agreed a deal with De Graafschap Doetinchem to sign winger Jermain Fernandes for an undisclosed fee. Fernandes, 20, has signed a four-year contract until June 2030.

I’m happy we managed to add Jermain before the end of the window. Jermain comes with speed and the desire to take on the fullbacks. This brings more depth to our already very talented group of offensive players, said head coach Fannar Berg Gunnolfsson.

Last season, Fernandes played for the De Graafschap U21 team and scored 12 goals in 30 games.

“Jermain is a talented prospect at winger,” said Sporting Director Jen Chang. “He’ll be exciting to work with and develop. He’s a player who will take defenders on and can play either wing. It’s going to add more competition to the group and increase the variety of our attacking options.”

Fernandes started his youth career with the Feyenoord academy in 2014 before joining NAC Breda in 2019 and then Willem II in 2023. He also made his debut with the Suriname U20 national team in September 2024.

“I’ve chosen to come to AB because it’s a good opportunity for me to prove myself at this level, and from the very first minute I started talking to AB, I just had a good feeling about the club, the stadium and the fans,” said Fernandes.
