AB Gladsaxe played the first training match today before the season premiere on July 24 in Vejle. The opponent was FC Roskilde, and the match was played on an excellent pitch 5 at Skovdiget. However, the heavy rain during the day had made the track somewhat heavy.
The starting point for AB was to give the entire squad match practice. AB therefore lined up with two mixed teams – one in the first half and a new team in the second half. Only Tobias Lykkebak played the entire 1st half and a large part of the 2nd half. FC Roskilde also changed many players during the match.
The game ended 1-1 after a goalless 1st half. AB’s goal was scored by Emil Mygind – Myg – after 18 minutes in the 2nd half. AB played their way to several big chances during the game and should have scored some more goals. FC Roskilde also had their chances and equalized Myg’s lead goal 5 minutes later.

Anton Boye at left back and Tobias Lykkebak and Marco Vesterholm in midfield. Casper Grening on the left wing, Marcus Immersen and Milan Silva Rasmussen in front and O’Vonte Mullings on the right wing.

On goal Marcus Bobjerg, Tobias Damtoft at right back, Noah Ibsen at center back together with Mikkel Brund, Engelbert Owusu at left back. Søren Ilsøe in midfield together with Alfred Horup, Tobias Lykkebak and Emil Mygind in front and Jonathan Mathys on the left wing and Tobias Hageltorn on the right wing.

Course of the match
AB started well and quickly pushed the ball up into FC Roskilde’s half of the field and combined the ball well around in several moments. When the last pass was to be made, however, the game was in several situations too slow and FC Roskilde cleared the ball away. It was clear that the relationships were not right in the two teams, which is also characteristic of a first training match right after the summer break.
FC Roskilde lurked on quick transitions and also had the appearance of dangerous attempts, including a free runner, where Adam Benediktsson had to make a great save. At the end of the 1st half, FC Roskilde had another free runner, who ran into the sand.
Immediately after, AB had a nice well-played attack, where O’Vonte Mullings in his usual quick sprint up the field, played Marcus Immersen, who nicely laid the ball to Marco Vesterholm, but his finish narrowly missed the goal.

The 2nd half started with a good attempt from Tobias Hageltorn, who took a quick run directly towards the goal, but his finish was parried. 5 minutes later, there was again good interplay on the right wing and Tobias Lykkebak sent a perfect cross in to Myg, who just as perfectly sent the ball into the goal.
FC Roskilde’s equaliser came after a shot towards AB’s goal. The shot was not cleared properly and the ball got a deflection and hovered over AB’s goalkeeper Marcus Broberg, who had no chance.
Around the half hour mark, Villum Stokbro came on the pitch and Tobias Lykkebak got a well-deserved rest on the bench. Villum Stokbro took over the place in central defence from Mikkel Brund, who came up to midfield.
The game ended 1-1 after a really good training match, where all players who were available came on the field, except goalkeeper Michael Stone.

After the game, head coach Fannar Berg Gunnólfsson said:
“It was a good test match. We played with two teams that played 45 minutes each. There were a lot of chances in both halves and we could have scored a lot more goals. As expected, the balance of the teams did not live up to the standard we want, but overall, I am very happy with the match and the players’ performances today.
Of course, there were some things where a wrong choice was made, but we also learn from that. I think we got through the game well here a few weeks before the start of the season,” Fannar Berg Gunnólfsson concluded.

The next friendly match will be played on Tuesday 14 July 2026 at 14:00 at Gladsaxe Stadion against Helsingborg IF.
