Tomorrow, Wednesday 13 May 2026, the dream of promotion to the 1st Division, the Betinia Liga, can become reality. The dream comes true if AB Gladsaxe beat FC Roskilde at Gladsaxe Stadium.
Referee Niclas Gomes kicks off the exciting match at 18:00, with assistant referees Shpend Shala and Gustav Qwist Olsen.
AB usually play very tight matches against FC Roskilde and have often found it difficult. The most recent match against Roskilde was played on 1 May, and AB won 3-2 at Roskilde Idrætspark after falling behind twice.
The winning goal was scored by Casper Grening, who ran from his own half with three FC Roskilde defenders chasing him. Before that, Noah Engell had made it 1-1, and Milan Silva Rasmussen made it 2-2 with a thunderous long-range strike.
It was a close and entertaining match that swung back and forth. FC Roskilde were good and dangerous on the counter, and that often caused AB problems.
There are five matches left in the promotion round in the CampoBet Liga, and AB are in a strong position in 1st place with 62 points. In 2nd place are Vendsyssel with 54 points, and in 3rd place are Næstved with 48 points. FC Roskilde are in 5th place with 40 points. The team won their latest match 2-1 over HIK in Gentofte.
On Friday, AB made the long trip home from Thisted with three good points in the bag after a 2-1 win at Sparekassen Thy Arena.
If AB lose the match or draw, there are still several ways to secure promotion. It can be decided in tomorrow’s round, but that would require other teams to lose, as there is a full programme in the 2nd Division promotion round. If that doesn’t happen, there are still 4 matches left to play this season.
COME ON, BOYS – win the match against Roskilde – so the dream becomes reality!
The coaching staff has the following players for the match:
1. Marcus Bobjerg (goalkeeper)
2. Jeppe Gertsen

Goalkeeper Adam Ingi Benediktsson says there’s a plan: “Tomorrow there’s another important match, but we’ve prepared as we usually do. We’re not thinking that it’s a different match from all the other matches we’ve played. We go out there, do our job and get the 3 points – it’s that simple.
The dream of promotion can become real tomorrow, but we mustn’t think about it. We have to stay focused and treat it like a normal match.
Roskilde are a strong team and they’re quite physical. They don’t give us space, so we have to go into the match with the same mentality as last time,” Adam Ingi Benediktsson concludes.
Head coach Fannar Berg Gunnólfsson is confident: “An exciting match awaits us tomorrow. We’ve been looking forward to it for a long time, and we’re excited. We know that if we win tomorrow, we’ve secured promotion, so the whole squad and the staff around us are very excited.
We’ve now played 27 matches, and every match has had the same goal for us: there are 3 points to play for in every match, and we have to get them. Even so, we still have high expectations of our players, because we want to win the match tomorrow,” Fannar Berg Gunnólfsson concludes.
The next match will be played on Sunday 17 May 2026 at 13:00 at Nord Energi Arena against Vendsyssel FF.
