Akademisk Boldklub A/S has signed the former VSK Aarhus midfielder Mikkel Clement. Clement, 22, has signed a three-year deal that runs until June 2029.

“Mikkel fits really well into the way we want to play football, and I am very much looking forward to getting him into the squad and working with him. He is good in the passing game and has an eye for putting his teammates in good positions. In addition, he plays with the intensity that we want to be characterized for,” says head coach Fannar Berg Gunnólfsson.

Clement played for VSK Aarhus this past spring after he moved to the club from Odder IGF in February 2026. He managed to play 16 games in the 2. Division, where he contributed with 2 goals and 2 assists. He started his youth career in Odder IGF’s academy.

Mikkel is a talented player who can play both as a defensive midfielder and as a box-to-box midfielder,” says sporting director Jen Chang. “We scouted him for the first time while he was playing in the 3rd division. Division, and then followed his development in the 2. division when he moved to VSK Aarhus. He is physical, aggressive, and a clever passer. He further strengthens our midfield group and adds more competition.”

“I have chosen to switch to AB because I see it as a really exciting step in my development as a football player, and not least as a person. The club has a strong environment and clear ambitions, which fit well with my own. I look forward to meeting my new teammates, coaches and everyone around the team.

And finally, I’m really looking forward to pulling the green jersey over my head and getting out and playing in front of all the fans at Gladsaxe Stadium,” says Clement.

In another transfer agreement, AB has agreed with Næstved to loan out central defender Jeppe Gertsen for the 2026/27 season.
