We are seeking a detail-oriented, growth-focused Business Operations Manager to own the financial and operational backbone of AB. This role combines hands-on operational finance execution with broad business support across the club’s daily operations. You will help turn numbers into decisions, create structure around key administrative workflows, and ensure that the club’s financial engine runs accurately, on time, and in line with our values.

This is a high-responsibility role for an ambitious early-career business professional who wants meaningful ownership in a non-traditional workplace. Football is not a standard office environment. The rhythm of the work can shift around matches, transfer windows, partner activations, events, and day-to-day club needs. The ideal candidate enjoys that reality and is motivated by the opportunity to learn quickly, work cross-functionally, and contribute wherever the club needs tactical execution, follow-through, and operational discipline.

This role combines financial operations, including payroll, accounts payable and receivables,operational administration and compliance, game day and sponsor business operations, and as-needed business support in a fast-moving sports environment. Drawing inspiration from modern sports and hospitality organizations and high-growth global brands, you will help create the supporting infrastructure that allows AB to scale sustainably while maintaining strong operational control and professionalism across the club.

The Business Controller will work closely with leadership, commercial, external accounting partners, suppliers, and operational stakeholders across the club.

Core Responsibilities

Business Plan and P&L Management

  • Support the annual budgeting and business planning process across the club
  • Maintain budget follow-up, monthly P&L reporting, and simple financial forecasts
  • Help track key revenue and cost drivers across matchdays, partnerships, merchandise, and operations
  • Assist leadership with financial reporting and operational insights
  • Help improve reporting structures and financial visibility across the organization

Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable (AR/AP)

  • Own the daily finance operations for accounts payable and receivables.
  • Manage debtor and creditor processes, including invoice creation, approvals, payment runs, collections follow-up, reconciliations, and account maintenance
  • Establish key metrics that are meaningful to all partners in the business.  Use technology to automate reporting and surface realtime data that can be acted upon.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of supplier invoices, using CorPay and E-Conomic for automation.  
  • Establish and operate a robust revenue collection strategy, that prioritizes receivables in line with account manager goals.
  • Maintain clear visibility into outstanding receivables, payables, and financial commitments.
  • Work closely with commercial and operational teams to ensure sponsorship invoicing, matchday revenue, and vendor obligations are properly tracked and reconciled
  • Support month-end closing procedures and financial accuracy across all transactions
  • Support integration of Shopify for ecommerce and retail point-of-sale operations, managing reporting for key trends, daily close processes and financial/tax reporting.

Monthly Reporting & Financial Operations

  • Coordinate the monthly closing process and prepare recurring management reporting
  • Build monthly reporting packages including P&L, balance sheet movement, budget variance analysis, and operational commentary
  • Ensure reporting deadlines are met consistently and accurately
  • Help improve financial reporting structures, dashboards, and operational KPIs over time
  • Support external accountants and auditors with required documentation and reconciliations
  • Maintain financial records and reporting standards in alignment with Danish accounting requirements and football industry best practices

Contracts Administration

  • Maintain and organize contracts across suppliers, sponsors, consultants, and operational partners
  • Track renewal dates, payment terms, and key contract obligations
  • Ensure contracts and important documents are properly filed and easy to access
  • Support leadership with administrative follow-up related to agreements and documentation
  • Help maintain structure and discipline around operational and financial records

Business Operations & Administration

  • Support day-to-day administrative and compliance processes across finance and operations
  • Assist with VAT, payroll documentation, invoice approvals, and general record keeping
  • Help ensure financial and operational documents are organized and audit-ready
  • Support administrative coordination around matchdays, vendors, and operational procedures
  • Work with leadership and external advisors to maintain professional and structured operations
  • Help improve internal processes and operational organization as the club continues to grow

Shipping, Receiving & Inventory Coordination

  • Oversee the administrative and financial control layer around goods moving into and through the club
  • Coordinate receiving and tracking of merchandise, operational supplies, and event materials
  • Reconcile purchase orders, delivery documentation, and supplier invoices
  • Maintain inventory visibility and support operational teams with stock accuracy and reporting
  • Assist with merchandise logistics, shipping coordination, and operational support around matchdays and club events
  • Help improve processes related to inventory control, merchandise handling, and operational purchasing discipline

Fixed Asset Management and Other Key Items

  • Identify and track key assets in the club, from sporting equipment to stadium facility assets
  • Manage nuanced landlord relations for Gladsaxe Stadium, including improvements, operational costs, compliance items and more.

About You

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of experience within accounting, bookkeeping, finance operations, controlling, audit, or similar fields
  • Experience working in e-conomic is strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of finance fundamentals including AR/AP, reconciliations, reporting, and budgeting
  • Comfortable working in spreadsheets and handling structured financial data with high attention to detail
  • Relevant educational background within finance, accounting, business administration, or economics
  • Experience from sports, events, hospitality, retail, or other fast-moving operational environments is a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in Danish and English
