Tomorrow, Saturday 11 May, AB Gladsaxe will travel to the “City of Smiles” – although the smile has probably hardened a bit after AGF’s defeat in the cup tournament. Now it is the top team in the 2nd division at Riisvangen Stadium, where Aarhus Fremad will take on AB. Referee Nicki Nordlund Hansen will start the match at 14:00.

Aarhus Fremad has got off to a good start and has won the first three games. However, they most recently lost 6-2 to FC Roskilde in Roskilde. The two teams swapped places in the table and FC Roskilde therefore took over the promotion place. It must therefore be expected that AB will meet a highly motivated and fired up top team, it will do everything to hang on in the promotion race. AB is unbeaten in the promotion play-offs and got a point in the last game against Middelfart.

The last time AB visited Riisvangen was on October 7, 2023. The game ended 1-1. It is a game that will be remembered most of all for Albert Gaub-Jacobsen’s two fantastic penalty saves, which he made two minutes apart in the last ten minutes of the game! The last match between the two teams on March 17, 2024 also ended 1-1 at Gladsaxe Stadion. A match that, in most people’s opinion, should have had AB as the winner. Head Coach David

Roufpanah said after Friday’s practice: “Of course we have to try to win the game. We know that it is a very difficult away game and that Aarhus Fremad is fighting for promotion. We have to play to win anyway. We have to change a lot compared to the match against Middelfart, because Aarhus Fremad plays differently and has a completely different way of playing defense and attack. We have to play a little more man-man in defense and play offensive play in a different way. It makes the match interesting that we have to face a team that is playing for promotion. It is important for us to play as big and important matches as possible. It helps to strengthen the team’s development. They have a lot of individual players and they work very hard. It is an aggressive team that must create many scoring chances. Last time we played 1-1 and they scored a goal on our mistake. So this time we hope we win 1-0”.

Rasmus Brodersen adds: “We have had good training with a good mood and intensity. We look forward to an exciting showdown with a good backdrop. We have to build on our last few games and take our good moments from especially the first half against Middelfart. We go over there to get 3 points – and it would be especially nice on their home ground”.
