A new season begins and it will be exciting. The training after the short vacation started on July 11, and
is now well over. Four friendly matches have been played with four victories as a result.
Tomorrow, Saturday, it will be played for points again, when AB Gladsaxe plays the first match in
CampoBet 2. Division in the 2025/2026 season. It will be Ishøj IF who will host AB in the first match
and the match referee Niclas Gomes will blow the whistle for the match at 13.00 in Ishøj Idræts og Fritidscenter,
Vejledalen 17. On the lines run Sidsel Fabricius Dall and Søren Lehmann.

Last season, AB and Ishøj IF faced each other twice in the regular season. It was 1-1 in the first
leg in October 2024 in Ishøj – AB had otherwise taken a 1-0 lead on a goal by Marco Ramkilde.
At Gladsaxe Stadium in March this year, it was a 3-0 victory for AB. AB’s scorers on that
occasion were O’Vonte Mullings with one goal and Noah Engell with two goals.
It will be an exciting match between two teams that finished last season very well. Now it’s the
first game of the season – and it’s always difficult.

Søren Ilsøe is looking forward to the
match” We are just so ready for the game tomorrow. We have worked extremely hard here in pre-season. We have trained
everything that needed to be trained, and we have integrated the new players. We cannot be more ready
than we are now.
The first leg is always a little more hectic than in the middle of the season – but we are in place.
Ishøj ended last season very well. So it’s definitely not a team to underestimate. It’s
a good team we’re going to face, but I think we’re in a really good physical place – and can crush
them for ninety minutes physically and take home the three points,” Søren Ilsøe concludes.

Head coach Joey Gudjonsson has the squad ready
” We are completely ready for the match against Ishøj tomorrow. The last time we played against them, they had changed
their system. We’ve looked at them again and there are again small changes so we know how they’re going
to try to get through.
But the most important thing is the mental side and we have to be ready to fight. It is difficult to play against
Ishøj away from home, but we have strong players. When we cross the white line tomorrow, for me it is
clearly about intensity and the players’ mental approach. We know from last year that when we built
up a mentally strong approach in the players, we were unstoppable.

We have the quality and we have the talent to beat any team, but we have to match their attempts and
efforts and work hard for it. It doesn’t take talent to work hard, but that’s what it takes.
The players have to be strong and brave and come with a lot of energy. So we definitely have a plan so that
we can win the game tomorrow.

The first match can always cause a little nervousness, but nervousness is just a feeling, so there is nothing
to be afraid of. It’s about turning the nervousness around and letting the energy come into the game.
We don’t have to think about everything other than giving the best we have and working together as a team.
If you feel comfortable in the team, and you know that your teammates have your back, then you will

The nervousness decreases as soon as the game is underway. We want the players to show the best side of themselves
, but within the framework we have set up.
It won’t be perfect tomorrow – it’s very rare that games are perfect, but we always
work towards perfection,” concludes Joey Gudjonsson.
