AB Gladsaxe travels tomorrow, Friday September 19, 2025, to Gentofte Sportspark, where HIK awaits at 19:00. The matches between these two clubs are often close, as shown by the two most recent encounters, which ended 2-2 and 0-0. On 27.09.2024, the match ended 2-2 at Gentofte Sportspark, where HIK’s equalizing goal to 2-2 was scored by then-HIK player Noah Engell. He’s certainly welcome to score again!
HIK is currently in 3rd place with 14 points. HIK’s latest league match was played last weekend, ending in a 1-1 draw against Ishøj away from home. On Tuesday, HIK played a good and very close match against the Superliga club Randers FC. It was a match that brought great credit to HIK, even though Randers FC ultimately secured a 2-1 victory. AB dropped to 5th place with 12 points after their 4-1 defeat last Friday against FC Roskilde. So in terms of points as well, the two teams are close in the standings.
AB has trained on the artificial turf this week, so the players are prepared for the match against HIK, which will be played on artificial turf. The match referee is Søren Tornhøj Nielsen, and he will be assisted by linesmen Søren Stagaard and Søren Lehmann.
Marco Ramkilde is optimistic: “I think HIK is a somewhat different team than when we last met them. They play more on counter-attacks now. Against Roskilde, we saw that we didn’t properly shut down counter-attacks in our defensive transition. We’ve worked on that this week, and I’m confident we’ll have it sorted out tomorrow.
There are many good opportunities for us to create chances against them. I went to watch them against Randers FC in the cup, and there was plenty of space in several areas of HIK’s play.
It’s important that when you have such a poor match, like we played against Roskilde, that you don’t see it as part of a pattern, but separate it. We had a bad day and all teams can have that – and we had it as a team. But that doesn’t mean we suddenly became a bad team, because we’ve played really, really well in the three previous matches. So the match against Roskilde was closed down on Monday and since then we’ve been looking forward to tomorrow’s match. So a new match and a new situation tomorrow – and I’m optimistic.
Joey Gudjonsson predicts counter-attacks from HIK: “It’s become part of our story this season that when we have a bad day, it’s really a bad day. Most of the goals we’ve conceded have been when we’ve given the ball away in dangerous areas of the pitch. We need to stop this, and the players need to learn very quickly because we all know this division is really strong.
We’re a good attacking team at the moment, but we’ve conceded too many goals. Even against Roskilde, we created enough chances to score maybe 2-3 goals. Tomorrow we’ll play against HIK, who are also a good team. We’ve seen them play against Randers in the cup tournament, and they played a really good match. They have several talented players and were close to equalizing to 2-2 at the end of the match.
We need to respect what HIK is good at and we need to defend carefully and not give them the opportunity for counter-attacks. They have really good players for counter-attacks and that’s where they score most of their goals. We’ve trained all week on artificial turf, and we have several players who are used to playing on artificial turf. It’s also possible to play better football on artificial turf, because some of the pitches we’ve played on haven’t given us the opportunity to play good football due to poor pitch conditions.
We need to play our game and we will dominate them and win. We really believe we can beat HIK tomorrow and we also have the chance to show our best sides on artificial turf,” concludes Joey Gudjonsson.
