Tomorrow, Saturday, January 17, 2026, AB will play their first training match leading up to the league start on Saturday, March 7 against HIK. It will be the first training match out of six planned, when AB travels to Frederiksberg, where FA2000 awaits at the facility on Jens Jessens Vej 20. FA2000 usually plays in CampoBet 3rd Division and is in a promotion spot during this winter break.

Since the restart on January 6, 2026, AB has been training in the winter cold with a focus on the physical aspect. Therefore, the first training match is about giving all the players playing time. So it will be exciting to see the new players in action. Players with minor ailments will not participate in the match. Note that in addition to the two new players, Travian Sousa and Milan Silva Rasmussen, Emil Mygind will also be making a reappearance in the squad for the match.

The last time the two teams clashed was in a training match during the summer preparation on July 22, 2025 at Skovdiget, where AB won the match 2-0 with goals from Tobias Hageltorn and Osama Murshed.

Head coach Fannar Berg Gunnólfsson looks forward to the training match against FA 2000: “We have now been training for two weeks. We are working hard at a relatively high pace. We are focused on preparing the squad for the start of the season and we have come quite far already, and I think we are in a good place at the moment.

We will primarily use the first training match to see where we stand physically, technically, and tactically. We haven’t spent that much time on the game itself until now, because we have mostly spent the last two weeks on running and physical training. So we need to see where we stand and where we need to improve. Tomorrow we will play with two teams, each getting one half, and a couple of the players will play a little longer. I look forward to the match tomorrow,” said Fannar Berg Gunnólfsson.
