AB Gladsaxe will play the first home game of the season tomorrow, Friday, August 8, 2025. If you ignore the first fourteen minutes of last weekend’s match – probably the shortest in the club’s history – against Ishøj IF, it’s also the first match of the season. FC Helsingør is today’s opponent and referee Kasper Madsen will blow the whistle at 19:00 at Gladsaxe Stadium. He has Yasin Seker and Martin Egtved Munch on the lines to help him make sure everything runs smoothly.

FC Helsingør come into the game on the back of a 4-0 defeat from their first game against Skive at Helsingør Stadium. On Tuesday, they suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat in the cup tournament. So with that in mind, we can expect a highly motivated and determined FC Helsingør team that will do everything to bring home points.

The most recent match between the two teams took place in Helsingør in late March, where the match ended 3-3 after an AB lead of 3-1 at halftime. AB’s goal scorers were Noah Engell with two goals and Noah Ibsen with one goal.

FC Helsingør finished 10th last season.

Mikkel Brund says it’s important to keep the spirit up: “We have some unresolved issues from last weekend, where we got a taste of the first fourteen minutes of the new season. So we certainly have plenty of energy for tomorrow’s match.

Helsingør have of course played a game, but I don’t see that as an advantage for them when they come to Gladsaxe Stadium. I always feel that we have the upper hand with the fans behind us and the support from the stands.

We always want to press the opponents in the first ten to fifteen minutes no matter who we play, and we managed to show that in Ishøj. We’re just ready for the game against Helsingør. We are very well prepared for the season. We have a well put together team from last season as well. There are some small things we’re adjusting at the moment and one of the most important things is the mental aspect – that we keep our spirits up. This is also what will enable us to achieve our goals for the season and keep the screw in the water all the way through,” concludes Mikkel Brund.

Head coach Joye Gudjonsson is well prepared: “As you know, we’ve only played 14 minutes of the first game of the season. So it’s like being in front of the first game – at least it’s the first game at home.

FC Helsingør have a new coach and play a bit differently than the last time we played them. They lost their first game against Skive 4-0 and they also lost to Lyngby in the cup tournament. They shouldn’t have lost so badly against Skive, but they did and in the game against Lyngby they played much better.
They will definitely be set up for the game against us. We see both weaknesses and clear strengths in their team and we should be able to eliminate their strengths.

It’s kind of our first game we play on Friday night and at home. We will be ready for anything they try and more. We will work our game plan to win tomorrow – and that’s what we will do!”, Joey Gudjonsson concludes.
