AB plays their final friendly before the season resumes on 7 March 2026, when the team faces Brøndby IF tomorrow at Brøndby Stadium. Kick-off is at 11:00am on pitch 2.
It will be interesting to see which team Brøndby IF fields. Last year’s winter pre-season also ended with a friendly against Brøndby IF. On that occasion, Brøndby IF lined up with a strong side made up of players from the Superliga squad, the transition team, U19 and U17.
AB won that match 3–1. AB’s goalscorers were Tobias Hageltorn with two goals and Mikkel Nielsen with one.
The final friendly often gives an indication of what the starting XI will look like in the first match against HIK. It’s also the players’ last chance to show themselves to the coaching staff in a match. All in all, an exciting friendly awaits.
The following players are available to the coaching staff:
1. Marcus Bobjerg (goalkeeper)
2. Jeppe Gertsen
4. Adrien Koudelka
5. Marc Dal Hende
7. Noah Engell
9. Emil Mygind Jensen

Head coach Fannar Berg Gunnólfsson is focusing on the defensive work:
We’re playing Brøndby tomorrow. We don’t know which players they’ll bring, whether, for example, it’s players from the bench in their match on Monday evening. So we’re not sure how they’ll play, but we expect them to line up in a 4-4-2, so that’s what we’ve prepared for.
Against Fremad Amager we played really well in the first half and we were in control of the match. We should have scored more goals in the first half, but I was still very pleased with that half. In the second half we relaxed a bit, and that wasn’t good, even though they didn’t create many chances. We lost quite a bit of control in almost every area, and we’re not happy about that.
I’m looking forward to seeing how we play in the final test match and also to seeing how ready we are for the first league match.
Our main focus tomorrow is our defensive tasks. We gave a bit away in the second half of the last match. We take pride in doing our defensive work well, and we talk a lot about being a strong defensive team—but we also need to score plenty of goals. Everything we do depends on our defense. In general, I want to see an aggressive approach tomorrow for 90 minutes+.
