Akademisk Boldklub A/S has agreed a deal with Vejle Boldklub to sign midfielder Tobias Lykkebak. Lykkebak, 19, has signed a 2.5 year deal until June 2028.

“We’re happy to have Tobias join us this spring as we continue building on what’s to come. Tobias is young midfielder who’s already been exposed to senior football for a few years. I like his physical presence on the pitch and I’m happy to get started on helping him progress further,” said head coach Fannar Berg Gunnólfsson.

Lykkebak made his SuperLiga debut on July 20, 2025 against Randers. He originally made his senior debut for Vejle as a 17-year-old in the Oddset Pokalen against AB on November 1, 2023, playing 45 minutes in Vejle’s loss to AB in the Round of 16.

Lykkebak has played in 47 games for the Vejle U19 team, recording 10 goals and 9 assists. In February 2025 he was selected to the Danish U19 national team for their training camp in Køge.

“We were not planning to add any more players in this window, but sometimes there are opportunities in the transfer market that you have to take advantage of when they become available,” said Sporting Director Jen Chang. “Tobias is a player we first noticed back in 2023. He’s a dynamic box-to-box central midfielder who adds energy and competition to our midfield group and he’s hungry to take his next steps in senior football.”

Lykkebak started his youth career with the Engum UI before moving to the VB Academy as a U11 player.

“One of the reasons I chose AB is that I was presented with a strong project that I could see myself being part of. In addition to that, I got a very good impression of the club and the fans back when I made my senior debut in the Cup defeat. I’m also looking forward to meeting everyone in and around the club, where I hope to contribute to an already strong foundation,” said Lykkebak.
