AB Gladsaxe played against Aarhus Fremad on Friday, where they scored a total of five goals. AB played a really nice game and won 3-2 on goals from Marco Ramkilde (20), O’Vonte Mullings (37) and Mikkel Brund (76). There was excitement until the end, and the 642 spectators had to go through the referee’s injury time of 8 minutes before the victory was secured. AB’s captain Daniel A. Pedersen unfortunately had to leave the field with an injury already after 25 minutes. Pachanga Kristensen came on the field and Søren Ilsøe took over the captain’s armband.

AB fielded the same starting line-up that did well in the match against FC Helsingør last week. Marcus Bobjerg in goal, in central defense played Adrien Koudelka, Mikkel Brund and Daniel A. Pedersen.
In The left side of the defense played Rasmus Brodersen and on the right side of defense Yael Liesdek. In the central midfield were Søren Ilsøe and Ægir Jarl Jonasson. On the edge lay A Gúst Hlynsson and in Francewere O’Vonte Mullings and Marco Ramkilde.
During the 2nd half, Frederik Lindgaard replaced Marco Ramkilde, Christian Wagner replaced O’Vonte Mullings and Darren Sidoel replaced Agúst Hlynsson.

AB got off to a good start and pressed Aarhus Fremad high on the field. AB played physical and captured a lot of balls, so Aarhus Fremad had a hard time getting their game going. AB combined well with direct play and several precise passes up against the attackers. It was precisely a precise pass from Søren Ilsøe to O’Vonte Mullings, who on the right wing made some lightning fast moves and played across the box to a free Marco Ramkilde, who nicely scored to lead 1-0.

Aarhus Fremad was certainly also in the game and especially in the last third of the pitch had good combinations and also dangerous crosses. After 30 minutes, Aarhus Fremad gets a corner kick, which AB on several occasions does not clear. It ends with an equalizer to 1-1 by Olalere Oluwatobi Oluwasegun.
It didn’t take more than 5 minutes before the ball was behind Aarhus Fremad’s goalkeeper again. After good play, Marco Ramkilde receives the ball on the left side. He plays a hard cross into the box, where O’Vonte Mullings absolutely fantastically takes the ball down, turns around and in the same movement he knocks the ball into the goal for a 2-1 lead. Even though the season has just started, we may have already seen this year’s goal at Gladsaxe Stadium. The score held until halftime.

From the start of the 2nd half, it was Aarhus Fremad who sat on much of the game. They now had the strong wind at their backs. AB had a hard time setting the game and at times fell to too many long passes, which quickly came back.

There were chances for both teams, but it was Aarhus Fremad who took advantage of the fact that AB once again did not get the ball properly cleared, so Erik Nissen could equalize for Aarhus Fremad to the score 2-2.
AB establishes a good attack, which results in a corner kick. Rasmus Brodersen sends a precise ball into the box, where Mikkel Brund rises high up at the back post and scores to lead 3-2.

For the rest of the game, Aarhus Fremad pressed on, but AB stood well and “fighted” the victory home to great cheers on the stands.

After the game, a satisfied Joey Gudjonsson said: “It was a good game, maybe especially for our fans – they had a really good football experience. There was enthusiasm among the players and they gave a good fight. I’m not too happy with the goals Aarhus Fremad scored. It was bad luck for us and a bit lucky for Aarhus Fremad that they scored two goals. We have to be more aggressive when we defend.”

“The players showed good strength and character today. Even when Aarhus Fremad scored, the boys came back and showed faith in it. The hard work and the will to fight and do anything – that’s what gave us the win today.”

“This is how we want to be and what we want to stand for. There are many good teams in the 2nd division, and several of them play physically and are strong. They don’t want to lose when they come here, so it’s an expression we have to have all the time, that it’s our home ground. It must be difficult for the opponents to come here – even if they may only come to get one point.”

Søren Ilsøe, who took over the captain’s armband after Daniel A. Pedersen had to leave the field with an injury, said these words: “We can’t help but be satisfied. It was a redemption after a slightly sluggish start to the season to get two wins in a row – it means a lot.”

“We score some really good goals, but also concede two sluggish goals. I actually think we have a good handle on them. We kept our agreements and gameplan. We knew they play good football. We also knew that we had to be solid for 90 minutes and we were. They have a good coach and they play good football, so that’s why it’s also an incredibly important and good victory.”

The next match is on Saturday 31 August 2024 at 14:00 against FREM in Valby Idrætspark.
