Akademisk Boldklub A/S has signed midfielder Alfred Horup (19) to a two-year contract through June 2028.

“Alfred has worked extremely hard to earn his contract, and he’s a prime example of a player who has shown versatility and consistency throughout his transition to senior football. I’m excited to keep working with Alfred, helping him take the next steps,” said Head Coach Fannar Berg Gunnólfsson.

Horup has made 15 senior first team appearances for the club. In the 25/26 season he has made 11 league appearances and recorded 1 goal. He originally made his first senior team debut in June 2025 and has been used at midfielder, fullback and winger.

“Alfred has shown strong progress since he’s been with the first team,” said Sporting Director Jen Chang. “He has a high work rate and is extremely versatile. In signing Alfred to his first professional contract, we show our continued commitment to bringing through academy players to the first team when they are ready.”

Horup is a product of the AB youth academy where he made 59 appearances and scored 6 goals.

“Signing my first professional contract with AB means a great deal to me. It’s been my dream throughout all the years I’ve been in the academy. I’m very grateful for the trust the club and the coaching staff have shown me, and also to the fans, whose support I’ve felt since my debut. We have a fantastic squad with a strong bond in the locker room, and I’m looking forward to getting started with pre-season. We’re going to work hard to secure the promotion that a club with our proud traditions deserves,” said Horup.
