On Wednesday evening, AB Gladsaxe and Næstved played 1-1 in over587 spectators at Gladsaxe Stadium. Næstved got ahead after a cornerkick at the start of the second half on a goal by Jeppe Spliid Gertsen. Adrien Koudelka brought AB to 1-1 with a quarter of an hour left of the match, also after a corner kick. The result held the match.

The coaching staff had made two changes to the starting line-up compared to the last game against Fremad Amager, as Noah Ibsen replaced Pachanga Kristensen, who took a place on the bench. In the goal, there was a debut for Nicholas Christoffersen and Albert Gaub-Jakobsen was on the bench.

The coaching staff had chosen the following players for AB’s starting line-up: Nicholas Christoffersen in goal, in central defence were Noah Ibsen and Adrien Koudelka and on the right side of the defense was Steven Simpson and on the left side Rasmus Brodersen. In the central midfield were Søren Ilsøe (C) and Mikkel Brund. On the edges were O’Vonte Mullings and Casper Grening. At the top, Agust played Hlynsson and Noah Engell.

AB lOwned Into one High pressure and fIk forced Næstved back into their own half of the field. Næstved lurked on transitions and got a couple of opportunities. Rasmus Brodersen and Steven Simpson were high on the edges in the AB’s play. AB makethey several successful diagonal shifts from the left side to the O’Vonte Mullings on the right side, which several times fIk created chances in front of Næstved’s goal.

After20 minutes, a Næstved player came close, but AB’s defense was foresighted and pulled together well in that situation.
As the half progressed, it was characteristic that AB got more and More games. Næstved stood well in the defensive and also played the ball around well when they momentarily came up on AB’s half of the pitch. AB had a hard time setting the pace of the game and difficulty opening up Næstved’s compact defense.

Næstved tried their hand at one shots from distance, but AB’s Debuting goalkeeper Nicholas Christoffersen Stood well and grabbed the ball. Shortly sent O’Vonte Mullings one precise delivery to August Hlynsson, who came a little too late for a finish – the chance was there, though!

The referee blew the whistle for half-time after an even first half and the score 0-0.

For the second half, Noah Maale came in instead of Agust Hlynsson, and Tobias Hageltorn replaced Mikkel Brund. The match picture from the first half continued, where AB’s play in periods was slow and circumstantial.

After 10 minutes of playing time, Næstved corner kick after a fantastic save by Nicholas Christoffersen, who by the way played a good game. The corner kick was in the middle of the field, where Jeppe Spliid Gertsen was completely free in front of goal and could easily put Næstved ahead 1-0.

AB haVde Still more finishes, but the sharpness was not there today. Næstved disksthey up with a save on the line and AB had Two headers, as thante bypassing Goal. Frederik Lindgaard came on the field and replaced Casper Branching.

After 69 minutes, Noah Ibsen was substituted, and Ægir Jarl Jónasson Come on the scene. This meant that AB switched to a three-man defence, and Ægir Jarl Jónasson was put all the way forward on the field.

AB sa speedup passes, and it resulted in several finishes that ended in corner kicks. After 75 minutes, Adrien scored Koudelka to 1-1 on a header after a corner kick.

With just under 10 minutes left, things were about to go wrong for AB’s goalkeeper Nicholas Christoffersen, who was close to tackling the ball from him, but luckily he got it blocked out for a throw-in.

AB had several chances, but neither Casper Grening, Søren Ilsøe, Frederik Lindgaard nor Tobias Hageltorn sent the ball into the goal.

There were a bunch of disappointed AB players who left the pitch after the referee’s five minutes of injury time had passed. Looking at big scoring chances in the match, AB should have won, even though for large parts of the game it was A very even match.

Captain Søren Ilsøe said after the game:

We are disappointed we dominate them a lot Ball. We create a lot of chances. Sometimes we get a little too disorganized when we lose the ball. They get their chances when we lose Trunkthe. Næstved is very low and then they are waiting for , that we lose the ball and then they run the other way. It is clearly their gameplan and you really have to play fast to get them moved, and we also do that in periods.

They get some chances, but we have to score at least three goals if you look atthe on the quality of chances. At times we play too slowly, and then we have to move them faster and play them even further down , than we did. In the periods when we get the game faster, the r we also get chances out of it. We have to keep doing that and then build on that so that we play fast t for 90 minutes.
They score on a corner and they did that in the last game as well, We met them. Næstved are good at it, but it is annoying. We have three maybe Four huge chances, where they also save on the line. If we get to 2-1 first, then I think we will also win the game “, Søren Ilsøe concludes.

Head coach Joey Gudjonsson did not have much to praise after the game:
“We were sloppy and give away a really easy goal. We played against a team that played on Sunday and we played on Friday, so we should have controlled the game better. But to have total control, you also need to score goals. We must take leadership, the initiative and do better. There was a good opportunity to win the match, and I don’t like that things are taken lightly and that some might think that it willbe an easy game.

I didn’t feel like we really put everything into the game. Some players were passive both with and without the ball. But the match changed completely, when we changed the line-up a bit with half an hour left. Vin made it difficult for Næstved by playing faster, and the players won the battle for the ball or took a player out of the game. We had so many chances to win the game.

The first hour we were simply too passive. It went far too slowly, and There was too much looking at where the next pass was going. The ball should have been played faster from side to side. We wanted to penetrate their defence, but that cannot be done if the ball is played so slowly. Overall, we played far too passively, both in defence and attack, the ball is passed too slowly, and we were Afraid to go into duels. If you act like that, you don’t win.

The players put energy into the game, but not enough. I pushed for the last 20 minutes and let the players know that I wasn’t happy because I don’t think they did what I know , they can. I really wanted to win that game and I’m sure the players would too, but it takes an extra effort and we have to keep working on it,” Joey Gudjonsson concludes.

Next match will be played at Skive Stadion against Skive on Sunday 18 May 2025 at 14:00
