AB A/S has signed a 1-year contract extension with winger Casper Grening, so it is now valid until December 2027.
“Casper has really taken AB by storm, and is an incredibly well-liked player in the locker room. His qualities on the pitch have also clearly shown to us in the spring, and I am very much looking forward to building further together over the next few years,” says head coach Joey Gudjonsson, about the extension.
The 24-year-old Grening joined AB in January 2025, and since then he has started in most games in the spring, where he has scored eight goals and four assists in 16 games.
Casper has had a big influence on the second half of the season for AB, and he also fits well into the locker room.
“He is very dynamic offensively and a big threat in the final third of the pitch with both creating chances and scoring goals,” says sporting director Jen Chang.
Grening hails from FC Roskilde’s youth academy, where he played from 2019 until 2021. He made his first team debut for Roskilde in August 2019, when they played in the NordicBet League.
He spent the 2024 season playing for the University of Pittsburgh, where he helped the Pittsburg Panthers to a seventh-place finish in the NCAA’s Elite 8. While with the Panthers, Grening had six goals and four assists in 20 games.
Prior to his stint in Pittsburgh, Grening played three seasons with the University of Kentucky, where he had 11 goals and six assists in 41 games.
“When I came to AB, I was very well received by a fantastic group of boys. With a squad that shines so much with talent, it was very natural for me to become part of the project with promotion as the big goal.”
“I am really happy to extend, and I look forward to playing even more football in front of our fans at Gladsaxe Stadium and scoring even more goals,” says Casper Grening.
AB’s number 30 also ended the season with the goal that secured AB their fifth win in a row.
