Akademisk Boldklub A/S has made an agreement with B93 to sign forward Jonathan Mathys. Mathys, 21, has signed a 2-year deal running up until June 2027.
“Jonathan is an exciting young striker that we have been following closely over the past few years. He fits very well into the way we want to play football, and his personality will be a great addition to our team. I am really looking forward to working with him,” states head coach Joey Gudjonsson.
Mathys appeared in 20 games and scored 3 goals for BK Frem during the 2024/25 season. After joining them on loan from B93. He also scored 2 goals in 17 appearances for B93 during the 2023/24 season in the NordicBet league.
“We were not planning to bring in any additional strikers this summer but due to some injuries this preseason, we are now a little thin in numbers at forward.” said Sporting Director Jen Chang.
“Jonathan is a player we’re familiar with and we feel that he is a good fit for the way we play and it made sense to bring him in and add some depth and competition to our group of forwards.”
Mathys began his youth career with the FC Nordsjaelland academy before moving to the B93 academy. He scored 48 goals in 55 games for B93 U19s.
“I am incredibly proud to have signed with AB, and I’m really excited to play in front of AB’s fans, and for this historic club. I can’t wait to show what I can do at Gladsaxe Stadium and hope that, together with this amazing team, I can contribute to the club’s goals for the coming seasons,” states the young striker Jonathan Mathys.
