Captain Søren Ilsøe thinks they can be very satisfied with the match:
“Overall, we have more big chances than they have. It was a slightly unstructured match, where the game went back and forth. There were a lot of long balls and a lot of duels, but I actually think we’re getting ahead to at least four big chances. They don’t come as well. I could have hoped to come away with the three points, because the only thing they score on is a free kick that is headed in.
Fremad Amager had read us well and they were really intense in their pressure. We sometimes played too long balls, and there they are wildly strong. I think we can be OK satisfied. We did what we were supposed to do and stuck to the principles we play by, and everyone was on board with our gameplan. We must continue the work“, Søren Ilsøe concludes.
Head coach Joey Gudjonsson gave credit to Fremad Amager for their play:
”Normally, a draw would be fine against Fremad Amager away from home, but we could have done much better. Casper Branching We had three good chances in the 1st half, where we should have scored. We had good opportunities especially in the 1st half to close the game, but we didn’t succeed. Fremad Amager came strongly fighting. There are many changes in their team, and the players who were here today wanted to t show their worth to their coach.
They pressed us really hard and we couldn’t play through their pressure and they made it very difficult for us. I would like to give them credit for that.
I felt we had more space, especially in the 2nd half, where we could also have done better to create more chances.
We definitely have the space to play – also through the middle, but the times when we had the ball in good positions, we couldn’t create chances out of it.
I still think we could have had a 2-0 lead at the break, especially with the chances that Casper Grening had – at least one of the chances should have been converted into a goal.
At the end of the game, they had some chances, and they played with a lot of risk, because they had to win. They We played aggressively and also pressed us with long balls, and we struggled a bit with that.
We have to continue working and look at the situation where Adrien gets a yellow card and they get a free kick. The defence is not in place there, and that is not the way we want to defend ourselves.
So it was not a perfect game for us at all, and it shows again that we have to work hard to win against the best teams in the division,” concludes Joey Gudjonsson.
The next match will be played on Wednesday 14 May 2025 at 18:00 against Næstved at Gladsaxe Stadion.
