AB Gladsaxe played out a 1–1 draw today against fellow 2nd Division side Fremad Amager at Sundby Idrætspark.
AB took the lead 1–0 after 9 minutes with a thunderous long-range strike from Søren Ilsøe, and that scoreline held until half-time. In the second half, Fremad Amager’s Markus Bay restored parity and made it 1–1 after 60 minutes.
It was a match where AB played two very different halves. In the first half, AB were outstanding, pinned Fremad Amager back, and with good, quick combination play created several good chances. In the second half, Fremad Amager got much more into the game, and for long spells it was Fremad Amager who pushed AB back.

AB started the match with:

Goalkeeper Adam Ingi Benediktsson
Left-back Mikkel Brund
Left winger Casper Grening
Centre-back Marc Dal Hende
Centre-back Adrien Koudelka
Right-back Frederik Lindgaard
Right winger O’Vonte Mullings
Midfielder Ægir Jarl Jónasson
Midfielder Søren Ilsøe
Forward Noah Engell
Forward Marcus Immersen

That meant Marc Dal Hende was the only new face in the starting XI, replacing Jeppe Gertsen compared to the Trelleborg match. So it could suggest the coaching staff are starting to settle on a preferred line-up.

First half
Unfortunately, Ægir Jarl Jónasson had to be substituted after just a few minutes following a tackle. Alfred Horup came on and put in a good performance in midfield.
AB controlled the game throughout the first half and created several good chances. After 9 minutes, Søren Ilsøe tried his luck from distance, and it was a really powerful strike and a fine goal to make it 1–0.

Marcus Immersen got in free and finished from close range, but Fremad Amager’s goalkeeper was well positioned and dealt with what was otherwise a dangerous situation.
AB kept play in Fremad Amager’s half. The passing flowed and the team was well organised in every department. The ball was moved around the pitch and every player made themselves available to receive a pass.
AB completely controlled the game. The same could not be said of the finishing. Fremad Amager’s goalkeeper showed good form, but it must also be said that AB’s finishing wasn’t sharp enough.

Towards the end of the half, Fremad Amager had a counter-attack, but the ball was played out for a corner, which AB cleared. O’Vonte Mullings broke away in his trademark style, but his shot was blocked. Fremad Amager had gained confidence, and Kenneth Zohore took his chance with a sprint down the touchline and challenged Adrien Koudelka, who with almost magical power caught him and won the ball in exemplary fashion.

2nd half

After the break, Jonathan Mathys started on the right wing in place of O’Vonte Mullings, who took a seat on the bench.
Fremad Amager pushed up quickly and before the clock had reached 1 minute, Christoffer Boateng went on a sprint and was suddenly one-on-one with Adam Ingi Benediktsson – but the finish went wide.

Fremad Amager pressed higher and moved the ball quickly. It was a different tempo than in the first half, and it was also in that spell they showed more physical play. Even so, it was AB who got the most out of the play when Marcus Immersen, after a good pass from Noah Engell, was able to finish right in front of the goalkeeper, but the shot was saved. Just two minutes later, Fremad Amager had another chance, but Adam Ingi Benediktsson saved again. A free kick shortly after, just 5 metres outside the box, didn’t lead to a goal as Noah Engell fired wide.
Ten minutes into the second half, Milan Silva Rasmussen came on up front in place of Marcus Immersen.

AB’s play didn’t click, and Fremad Amager put together a couple of quick passes and a cross into the middle of the box, where Marcus Bay was unmarked and could make it 1–1.
After 20 minutes, Travian Sousa came on and Mikkel Brund took a seat on the bench. Jeppe Gertsen took over in central defence after Marc Dal Hende. Shortly after, Tobias Hageltorn came on in place of Casper Grening.

AB gradually got more into it and created chances, but the finishing wasn’t accurate enough. Marco Vesterholm came into midfield in place of Søren Ilsøe.
Towards the end of the match, Emil Myg Nielsen came on and Noah Engell took a seat on the bench. Noah Ibsen took over Adrien Koudelka’s spot in central defence.
With 8 minutes left, Marco Vesterholm played a really good pass between two centre-backs to Milan Silva Rasmussen, who got clean through and was one-on-one with the goalkeeper, but the finish was blocked by the keeper. The ball bounced in front of goal and Emil Mygind Nielsen got a shot away, but it went over the empty goal, so the match ended 1–1.

Head coach Fannar Berg Gunnolfsson was not entirely satisfied: “It ended 1–1 against a good opponent. I think we played absolutely fantastically in the first half. Our pressing and our build-up play were really good and we dominated completely.
I’m a bit disappointed with the second half, because we became a little careless and were constantly a step behind in our build-up. So we lost the ball, created some clumsy situations, and there were also some lapses in defence. So the second half ended level, and I’m a bit disappointed about that.”

“They were a physically strong side, especially in the second half, where they really went for it. That’s how it is – every team fights for everything they get,” Fannar Berg Gunnolfsson concluded.
The next friendly will be played on Tuesday 24 February 2026 at 11:00 against Brøndby IF at Brøndby Stadium.
