On Monday, AB Gladsaxe played its third preseason match, taking on Hvidovre IF at Valby Idrætspark. AB lost the match 2–1, which was also the score at halftime.
Goal scorers:
1–0 Marvin Egho (Hvidovre)
1–1 Marco Ramkilde (AB)
1–2 Oliver Kjærgaard (Hvidovre)
As in the first two training matches, AB fielded two almost completely different lineups, one in each half. Only Tobias Hageltorn, Milan Silva Rasmussen, Alfred Horup, and Mikkel Brund played more than 45 minutes.
AB’s lineup – 1st half
Goalkeeper: Marcus Bobjerg
Right back: Tobias Damtoft
Center backs: Marc Dal Hende and Noah Ibsen
Left back: Mikkel Brund
Midfield: Ægir Jarl Jónasson and Alfred Horup
Left wing: Casper Grening
Right wing: Tobias Hageltorn
Forwards: Marco Ramkilde and Milan Silva Rasmussen
It was very tough playing conditions with strong winds and freezing cold temperatures when the referee started the match.
Most of the first 20 minutes were played in midfield, with Hvidovre as the more dominant side. AB had some counterattacks that, with a bit more composure, could have led to bigger chances.
Both teams struggled to get their game flowing. After 23 minutes, Hvidovre hit the crossbar, and as the ball came back into play, Marcus Bobjerg was well-positioned to make the save.
A good cross into the box found Marvin Egho, who gave Hvidovre a 1–0 lead. AB, however, responded quickly when Marco Ramkilde equalized to 1–1.
Seven minutes later, Hvidovre switched play across the field, and the ball ended up with Oliver Kjærgaard, who hit the post. Unfortunately, the rebound came straight back to him, and he easily put it away for 2–1.
It wasn’t a particularly impressive half from AB’s perspective, and the team often struggled against Hvidovre’s high pressing.
AB’s lineup – 2nd half
Goalkeeper: Marcus Bobjerg
Right back: Alfred Horup
Center backs: Jeppe Gertsen and Adrien Koudelka
Left back: Mikkel Brund
Midfield: Søren Ilsøe and Tobias Lykkebak
Left wing: Emil Mygind Jensen
Right wing: Tobias Hageltorn
Forwards: Noah Engell and Marcus Immersen
Hvidovre earned a number of corner kicks early in the half, but none resulted in goals. Fifteen minutes in, Tobias Hageltorn fired a good shot just wide of the goal. Hvidovre moved the ball around well and created opportunities, but AB’s defense held strong during that stretch.
As the half went on, AB’s play improved noticeably. The tempo increased, and the passing combinations became more fluid. Around the 75th minute, Marcus Bobjerg made an outstanding save to tip a shot over for a corner, which came to nothing.
In the final minute of the match, Marcus Immersen had a golden opportunity to equalize when he broke free through on goal, but his shot was saved by the keeper.
Head Coach Fannar Berg Gunnólfsson’s said:
The match had its shortcomings, but the most important thing was to give minutes to all available players. There was a bit of sloppiness, and some tired legs as well, so the quality of play was lacking — but it was also very cold with strong winds. It wasn’t the best football we could play, but I’m satisfied with some of the things I saw, such as our defensive work and structure.
How we kept the ball — and how we lost it — wasn’t satisfactory, but overall I’m pleased with the effort.I had split the players into two balanced teams, but last night some illness came up, so we had to put a few players in positions they’re not used to. Our focus is on getting everyone going and back in shape, so we’re happy to have played the match.
Some players got frustrated at times when things didn’t quite click — especially in the first half, where the passes weren’t precise or possession was lost too easily. We talked at halftime about not letting that irritation affect our game.
AB’s next training match will be an international away game against Trelleborg, to be played on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at 14:00.
