Akademisk Boldklub A/S has signed a 2-year contract with goalkeeper Michael Stone, which runs until December 2027.

“I am pleased that we managed to get Michael after an opening arose in the squad at short notice. Michael is an athletic goalkeeper, and his personality fits perfectly among the boys in the locker room,” says head coach Fannar Berg Gunnólfsson.

Stone graduated from UConn Huskies, where he was also a teammate with Søren Ilsøe. Before his time at UConn, he played for Boston University and Amherst College. In his last season for UConn, Stone played 11 games with an average of 1.27 goals conceded per game.

“Michael is a skilled shot stopper and strong in aerial duels,” says Sports Director Jen Chang. “He has a strong mentality and will add good competition to the goalkeeper group.”

Stone said: “I’m really excited to be here and help the team achieve something great. I look forward to giving my all every day and getting to know the fans better!”
