Akademisk Boldklub has signed forward O’Vonte Mullings to a 1-year contract extension to June 2028.

“I’m very pleased O’Vonte has chosen to extend with us. He’s a very talented player who matches the way we want to play. He’s a unique player in the league, and a brilliant teammate. I’m excited to keep working with him, and I’m certain he will help us win going forward,” said Head Coach Fannar Berg Gunnolfsson. 

Mullings has 5 goals and 7 assists in 14 league games for AB this season.

“O’Vonte is a key part of the team and since his arrival he has been a fantastic professional who shows tremendous work ethic and great character both in his performances and in the manner in which he interacts with his teammates and our staff,” said Sporting Director Jen Chang. “It’s our philosophy to retain our core players and keep this group together as long as possible and this is an important signing for us.”

Mullings, 25, was originally signed in January 2024 from the New York Red Bulls. He was drafted in the first round of the 2022 MLS SuperDraft (20th overall) by the Red Bulls after a standout career at Florida Gulf Coast University and played in 56 games for New York Red Bulls II and 3 for the New York Red Bulls.

During his career at AB, Mullings has appeared in 60 games and scored 14 goals and 11 assists.
