AB Gladsaxe travels to Helsingør tomorrow, Friday, November 14th at 19:00. FC Helsingør awaits at Helsingør “New Stadium.” This is the last match of the autumn season before the winter break, which runs until March 7th, 2026, and it’s a clash between top and bottom teams. FC Helsingør is ranked 12th with 7 points while AB sits at number 1 with 33 points. AB started the autumn season in Ishøj with an extremely rainy match that was interrupted after 14 minutes. The match resumed on August 20th, where AB won 1-0.
AB’s first match in the 2025-2026 season was therefore on August 8th against FC Helsingør. AB now seeks revenge, as they lost 2-1 at Gladsaxe Stadium. Marc Dal Hende scored AB’s lone goal in the dying minutes of the match. It was a poor start to the season, where AB created good chances but lacked the final cynicism and sharpness. Helsingør fought heroically and made it really difficult.
An exciting match is set between two teams that naturally want to end the autumn season well. FC Helsingør will fight for points in an effort to move away from the bottom. AB will fight for points and the chance to spend winter in 1st place. Last weekend, FC Helsingør lost 3-2 to HIK in Gentofte. AB, as known, won 3-1 against Vendsyssel FF at Gladsaxe Stadium.
Both teams have a player suspended. FC Helsingør will be without Mathias Brems and AB must do without Casper Grening. The responsibility for fair play has been given to referee Sebastian Tornhøj Nielsen, who will be assisted by linesmen Jan Johansen and Sidsel Fabricius Dall.
Mikkel Brund sees strength in the final match:
I think we’re coming into the match well. We lost to Fremad Amager, but then we had a good experience and took the victory against Vendsyssel last Friday. I think we played a really good match against Vendsyssel, and I hope we carry that into the Helsingør match. We came with intensity from the start, and then we came back and won 3-1 after falling behind by a goal. Having to fight our way back has given us strength. We’ve had a good training week where we’ve built on some things and worked on being sharp on even the smallest details. It doesn’t matter to us where our opponent is in the table. We’ll tackle this match like all matches until now, because it’s a match like any other. We need to do what we usually do, then I believe we’ll win the match.
Head Coach Joey Guðjónsson wants to enter Christmas with another victory:
Early in the season, we lost to Helsingør at home. Our last match against Vendsyssel was really good, and I think it will be a good mental test tomorrow when we go to Helsingør and meet them on their home ground.
It doesn’t matter who you face. It’s about being completely mentally ready and putting in a lot of hard work throughout the match if you want to be able to win. Especially now that we’re at the top and have played many good matches, we still need to focus on our own game. All other teams want to take points from us because we’re at the top, so we need to be completely ready from the first minute.
That being said, we’ve played really well and we’ve trained at full strength this past week. We’re looking forward to a good match tomorrow, and I hope we can win to stay at the top of the table.
