It was “Oktoberfest” and “Municipal Derby” night as AB Gladsaxe hosted Skive IK at Gladsaxe Stadium. The 903 spectators were treated to a great evening, watching the league leaders take on the team in 11th place in this season’s regular stage. Skive took the bus all the way from Skive to Gladsaxe—and it was a long ride home too. AB went 3–0 up after 15 minutes and the final score was 4–0, so it was a goal fest inside the white lines at Gladsaxe Stadium.

AB lineup

The coaching staff made one change compared to the last three games. Marcus Immersen replaced the suspended O’Vonte Mullings. The starting eleven was: Adam Ingi Benediktsson in goal; right back Frederik Lindgaard; center backs Adrien Koudelka and Noah Ibsen; left back Tobias Damtoft. Central midfielders were Marco Vesterholm and captain Søren Ilsøe; right wing Marcus Immersen and left wing Jonathan Mathys. Up front were Noah Engell and Marco Ramkilde.

First half

AB got off to a great start despite a strong crosswind, but they didn’t let it bother them. After just 2 minutes, Jonathan Mathys headed confidently home for 1–0 after a good cross into the box from Tobias Damtoft.

With O’Vonte Mullings suspended, Marcus Immersen started on the right wing. It clearly didn’t matter—Immersen scored the next two goals, and only a quarter-hour had passed. Marco Ramkilde set up the 2–0 goal, dribbling across the edge of the box and picking out Noah Engell at just the right moment; Engell played it into the area for Immersen, who powered it into the net.

A few minutes later, Immersen and Ramkilde combined again. Ramkilde slipped a pass between two Skive defenders, Immersen broke free, and calmly finished for 3–0. Throughout the half, Immersen often drifted inside while Ramkilde and Engell alternated on the right flank.

Second half

After a standout first half where he was everywhere, Marco Ramkilde was subbed off at the break for Tobias Hageltorn. Hageltorn took the right wing and Immersen moved into the middle of the attack. Skive IK didn’t offer much, but they did create a good chance that Adam Ingi Benediktsson tipped over the bar.

Noah Engell put in another solid shift, finding teammates with sharp passes. Jonathan Mathys got on the end of one after Engell had battled to win the ball, and Mathys played it into the box, but Immersen couldn’t make contact. AB kept the ball moving with crisp, quick passing in tight spaces.

After 52 minutes, AB won a free kick on the right. Noah Ibsen rose high to head it, but Skive’s keeper managed to punch it away. Not far enough, though—Adrien Koudelka arrived quickly and struck it cleanly over the line for 4–0. After 62 minutes, Marc Dal Hende came on to replace Tobias Damtoft at left back. Ægir Jarl Jónasson replaced Søren Ilsøe in midfield. After 70 minutes, Steven Bala came on to take over the left wing and Jonathan Mathys went off. After 77 minutes, Alfred Horup entered on the left wing and Marcus Immersen went off. Steven Bala moved into the middle of the attack. AB maintained their structure and kept the ball zipping around so smoothly it was almost automatic. That produced a couple more chances, but no further goals.

AB can now look back on a 16–1 goal difference over the last four matches and are also the league’s top scorers with 29 goals. They’ve banked 24 points, and only 13 goals have gone in against AB.

Captain Søren Ilsøe commented on the game:

We controlled the game against Skive from start to finish. It was obvious from the first minute that we came to play. We were three up after a quarter of an hour. We just went out, put the hammer down for the first ten to fifteen minutes, and saw what it would lead to. It turned out exactly as we’d hoped.

I don’t think Skive had much after that start. We dominated the ball and didn’t need many chances today to score. Skive get tired—it’s hard to come back when you’re three down so early. We played well and kept the ball, which made it tough for them. Our lines were tight, and we’re a pressing team that wants to push up the pitch. We created some great moments where we really had Skive under pressure and got into good situations. We broke well, too.

We did everything right with a good game plan and a good attitude. The players who came on just kept pushing, and Skive got more and more tired. I’ve said it before: this squad is so deep and talented that it’s almost irrelevant who we put on the pitch—it just works. It’s awesome, and we should enjoy it. Now the fun games are coming, where we’ll battle at the top. That’s the scenario we wanted, and we should remember to enjoy the pressure, because we’ve played ourselves into that position—and we’re looking forward to it.

Assistant coach Fannar Gunnolfsson was thrilled after another win:

It was a great game and a big result. We got a fantastic start—3–0 after 15 minutes. The players showed a fantastic attitude again today, and we had control of every situation throughout the match. The players were on their toes, and we started the game the same way we have in recent matches. The way the players took their chances was outstanding.

We kept it compact because we knew Skive would play long balls. We were ready for that, so whenever they managed it, we were prepared for the second balls. In the second half, we still had control, and Skive were down, so we scored one more. It was another fantastic team effort, and it gave us our fourth win in a row.

The next match is a top clash against Næstved, to be played away on Friday, October 17, 2025 at 7:00 PM.
