Akademisk Boldklub A/S has agreed a deal to send forward Christian Wagner to Thisted for undisclosed future consideration.

“Wagner will be missed in our locker room, but it’s only fair that he gets the chance to continue the great spring he had at Thisted. We have strong competition for the attacking spots, and consistent playing time is important for a young, talented forward.”

Wagner, 22, made a total of 42 appearances for AB, recording 8 goals and 3 assists.

“We had a positive discussion with Christian this offseason and mutually agreed that he needed to get more playing time to take the next steps in his career,” said Sporting Director Jen Chang. “Christian had asked to train with Thisted in preseason and we thought it would be a good fit as he has had success there. We wish Christian the best and thank him for his hard work and dedicated training efforts while he was with us.”

Wagner started his youth career with the Aalborg Academy before signing with AB in July 2023.

“I want to thank AB for a lot of great matchdays at Gladsaxe Stadium. It’s been a pleasure playing in front of all the AB fans, who always support the club. I wish AB and the squad all the best of luck in the coming season,” says Christian Wagner.
