AB Gladsaxe played the first of four friendly matches today, and the opponent was Sundby BK. The game was goal-rich and ended with a solid victory of 7-1 after leading 6-1 at the break and the following scorers: Frederik Lindgaard two goals, Casper Grening two goals, Alfred Horup 1 goal and Mikkel Brund 1 goal. Sundby BK scored an own goal.

It was agreed that everyone would get playing time, so the cards were shuffled, so there were both new and old players on the field. AB started with Adam Ingi Benediktsson on goal, in central defense Noah Ibsen and Adrien Koudelka, left back Marc Dal Hende (captain), right back Alfred Horup, in midfield Agúst Hlynsson and Ægir Jarl Jónasson, on the right wing Frederik Lindgaard and on the left wing Casper Grening. In front were Tobias Hageltorn and Marcus Immersen.

From the start of the second half, there were changes: On goal came Nicholas Christoffersen, in central defense Noah Ibsen and Adrien Koudelka, left back Noah Poulsen, right back Alfred Hurup, in midfield Søren Ilsøe (captain) and Mikkel Brund, on the right wing Frederik Lindgaard and on the left wing Osama Murshed. In front were Tobias Hageltorn and Steven Bala.

During the 2nd half, Frederik Jørgensen and Jonathan Bragasson also came on the field and they replaced Noah Ibsen and Adrien Koudelka in defence.

The game started at a high pace, with both teams pressing up. It was clear that it was the first game after a hard week of training and that there were a lot of new players who had joined. AB played with far too many touches, and there were a lot of wrong passes. Sundby BK played quickly and directly in the transitions, and after ten minutes, a Sundby player received a long pass and was able to run towards goal and also score to lead 1-0. It was a situation where AB’s defenses did not look sharp and should have averted the situation.

The goal really got AB started, and AB got the game going with good and fast combinations. It resulted only four minutes later in Frederik Lindgaard’s equalization to 1-1 on a really good shot far outside the box on the right side.

Sundby only just managed to give the ball up, then AB stormed towards goal and Casper Grening could score to make it 2-1. Just two minutes later, AB’s quick attack pressured Sundby’s goalkeeper, so the ball again went into play, and Frederik Lindgaard took the chance and scored nicely to make it 3-1.
It was also Frederik Lindgaard who kicked a corner kick, which came well into the box, where Marcus Immerman pushed Sundby’s defense to an own goal and AB therefore got on the scoresheet to 4-1.
35 minutes into the game, Casper Grening took a corner kick and played short to Alfred Hurup, who took two moves into the field and shot a good shot all the way down at the post to lead 5-1. With five minutes left, Tobias Hageltorn received the ball in front of goal, where he made a quick turn and was brought down. The referee pointed to the spot and Casper Grening scored safely on the penalty kick to make the halftime score 6-1.

Despite the many substitutions, AB continued the good play in the 2nd half. Several opportunities were created with sharp passes from Søren Ilsøe and Mikkel Brund either across the pitch or down behind Sundby’s defense to Steven Bala, Frederik Lindgaard and Osama Murshed. However, none of the opportunities that arose led to big scoring chances.
With five minutes left of a well-played game, Mikkel Brund had tricked that Sundby’s goalkeeper had come far enough forward on the field, so he sent the ball from the middle over the goalkeeper and into the goal for the result of the game at 7-1.

Head coach Joey Gudjonsson was pleased and happy with the test match: “We got what we wanted out of the game. We made a lot of changes in the second half, as we played with two teams. It didn’t change the intensity and the things we had asked the players to show us today, we got to see.
We started a bit sloppy and relaxed, but as soon as Sundby had scored their goal, it dawned on the players what we wanted them to do. After that, they didn’t look back. We scored a lot of goals and I’m very happy with the intensity they all put into the game, and that’s important so that we get something physical out of the game as well. We pressed a lot, ran a lot and created a lot of chances, which we also scored on a lot of.

Everyone got playing time, and the new players settled in well, even though it is a short time they have played with us. On the whole, we haven’t been involved in the actual football training for more than three training sessions, so I’m very satisfied.
The new players also have to learn our rules of the game, which the players who have been here for a long time know very well. They know what we expect of them, and everyone works really hard. It’s a really good start to the short time we have before we start the tournament – so I’m happy”, concludes Joey Gudjonsson.

The next training match will be played on Saturday 19 July 2025 at 12:00 against Hørsholm-Usserød at Skovdiget.
