Akademisk Boldklub A/S has added one year to midfielder Søren Ilsøe’s contract, so it now runs until June 2027. 25-year-old Ilsøe, who originally comes from Esbjerg’s youth department, joined AB in January 2023 after a successful stay in America, where he played for both Northeastern and UConn.
– I am pleased that Søren has chosen to commit himself to the project for another year. In Søren, we know that we will get a player who always tries to do the right things, and leads by example for his teammates, says head coach Joey Gudjonsson.
Ilsøe has played 27 games this season in the 2. Division for AB. He has played a total of 60 divisional games during his AB time, where he has two goals and nine assists.
– Søren has an inexhaustible drive and work ethic, and he is one of the leaders on our team, says AB’s sports director, Jen Chang and continues:
“He is a core on and off the pitch and we are thrilled that he has strengthened his connection to the club.
The main character himself is also looking forward to continuing to work in AB.
– My time at AB has just turned 2.5 years, and it is with great pride and gratitude that I have the opportunity to represent AB now and until 2027.
– AB is a special place with amazing people, and that’s exactly why I love going to work. AB is a traditional club with a great past, but history must be retold, and I want to be a part of that, says Søren Ilsøe.
