Tomorrow, Saturday 24 May 2025, AB Gladsaxe will face Aarhus Fremad at 14:00 at Riisvangen Stadium. Aarhus Fremad is at the top with 57 points, while AB is 4th with 39 points.
It must be expected to be a highly motivated and fired up Aarhus Fremad team that runs on the pitch and is so close to promotion that they can succeed this time.
This season, AB and Aarhus Fremad have crossed swords three times. AB has lost all three games, most recently in April 2025, when it was a 2-0 defeat at Gladsaxe Stadium. It was a game that AB should have gotten points out of, because AB sat on the game and had great scoring chances.
AB met Skive in the last match and won 3-1 away from home. Aarhus Fremad won 3-0 in Næstved.
The referee of the match is Kasper Madsen and he has Mathias Madsen and Aidin Esmaeli on the sidelines.
Noah Engell: There is revenge in store
“We have to face the best team in the series, so I’m looking forward to the match. I think it will be a really cool game in Aarhus. They are so close to being able to play their way up to the 1st division, so there will be a lot of atmosphere around the pitch from the many spectators. It’s also always fun to play against the best teams.
I feel that we have revenge to spare from the last game against them, where we play a really good game, even though we lose 2-0 and where we should at least have played a draw – if not won. We are top Motivated and training with lots of spirit, and we are also in the process of getting ready for next season.
Right now we are playing the promotion game and thus playing against the best teams. These are the teams we have to beat regularly if we want to get promoted, so the games mean a lot here in the promotion game and we practice a lot. We have a lot of spirit and think it’s great to play the matches.
The last time we played against Aarhus Fremad, we were really good at stressing them high up on the pitch and got them played all the way down on their own pitch. We just needed to score some goals on our big chances. We have to go up again and win the duels.
We have seen that Skive has won twice against Aarhus Fremad and we have just won twice against Skive, so there are good opportunities to bring home a good result from Aarhus”, concludes Noah Engell.
Joey Gudjonsson: It doesn’t take talent to work hard
“I’m really looking forward to the game against Aarhus Fremad, because I don’t feel like we were ourselves the last time we met them. Especially in the away game, I think we lacked courage, we held back and were passive. These are the things we have talked about and if we want to be in the position that Aarhus is this year next year, then we have to have a result every time we play.
Of course, there is no guarantee that we will get a result, but we can guarantee as a team and individually that we will make a good attempt and be brave and play our style of play and be aggressive.
All of that doesn’t require talent, so when the match starts, I want to see that the players are brave enough to go out and take control of the match. We have to tackle them from the first minute and make it very difficult for them to control the game, even if they are at home.
It takes courage, commitment and many physical battles. I don’t want to see any of the players holding back, but they really have to go for it. So when the pressure on one player is done, another takes over and does exactly the same. It is with that attitude that I want to see the players show tomorrow.
Last time, Aarhus beat us by being more aggressive than us, and we had a lot of patience and also strength, but we didn’t show it.
They have only lost one game at home this year. So if we bring heart, spirit and commitment into the game and the players show that they really want to work hard for a win, then I think we can give them the second defeat on their home ground this year.”
