Latest news and updates from AB Fodbold.
Very early tomorrow, Sunday 18 May 2025, AB Gladsaxe will take the long way to Skive, where the local football club Skive IK will welcome.
The match will start at 14.00 at Hancock Arena, Engvej 17 – if you have the opportunity to drop by.
To make sure that the match proceeds fairly and in a good atmosphere, the referee team with referee Patrick Remon Gammelholm and line judges Søren Stagaard and Sune Feddersen are set to lead the course of the battle.
Skive lost their midweek match with 1–0 at home to Fremad Amager. AB played 1-1 with Næstved at home in Gladsaxe.
AB occupies 4th place with 36 points – the same number of points has Skive in 5th place. Næstved also has 36 points in 6th place. So it can’t get any closer in the lower part of the promotion play-offs.
It was only a fortnight ago that that the two teams met at Gladsaxe Stadium. Here AB won safely t with 5-1 on two goals by Steven Simpson, one by O’Vonte Mullings and two goals by Casper Grening.
It is probably not realistic to put hopes for such a great result . KIf AB can get up to the pace, the workeffort and the fast ball handling, as in the last 15-20 minutes of the match against Næstved, there are very good opportunities to take home points from NorthJutland.
Adrien Koudelka would like to see many goals again against Skive: “It’s been a tough week with two games, but now we feel ready again. We have had quiet trainings where we have been able to recover and where we now have fresh legs again.
It is never easy to play away against Skive, and the pitch is not the best to play on. But we are quite ready to give our best and will do our part to win the match. I hope we can score more goals again like the last time we met Skive – and that we win the game”, concludes Adrien Koudelka.
Head coach Joey Gudjonsson wants to build a winning culture:
“Obviously, we have talked a lot about the last game at home against Næstved. We played far too passive in the first 70 minutes. The statistics showed that our xG was 0.05 and that is far too low. In the last 20 minutes, the stats showed that our xG had risen to 3.0. The team only woke up when I took control from the sidelines, and I’m not happy that the players didn’t show more.
When playing in the AB shirt, you should always be hungry to win and give the best you have. It’s OK to play controlled and hesitant if you lead by two or three goals. But passivity at 0-0, that’s not the game we want.
We go to Skive and play aggressively and controlled from the first minute, and we have to try to get a lead and win the game.
We must have the attitude that we always go into a match with the intention that we will win the matches. We must create that winning culture together. We are a team and a club that wants to be promoted next year.
Therefore, we must use the games now to build the mentality and the hunger needed to win. We need to use the games to make us better for next season. We are not going to win every game, but we have to go in with the same mentality every time – and I will see that tomorrow against Skive.
Of course, it plays a role that we can’t move up and it’s easy to say. But Basically, All players win all matches, including the matches we play in training. It can be tricky in the players’ heads to motivate themselves when we can’t be promoted this year. They must However , constantly show me that they want to win also for training.
All football matches have a meaning, and you must have the right mentality, great hunger and desire to win matches. So it’s mental, and I want to see a reaction from the players tomorrow “, concludes Joey Gudjonsson.
