Tomorrow, Wednesday 14 May 2025, AB Gladsaxe will play the fourth match in the promotion playoffs, when Næstved visits Gladsaxe Stadium.

Referee Oliver Alexander Stegemüller Fogh Simbold whistles the match at 18:00. To help him share the sun and wind, he has on the lines Anna Kjær Schmidt and Morten Helvig Andersen.

It was the first game of the season, when AB and Næstved faced each other in the beginning of August 2024 in the regular season. The game ended 1–1 at Gladsaxe Stadion , and Agúst Hlynsson equalized for AB in the second half.

At the beginning of November 2024, AB lost 1–0 in Næstved. It was a match that still makes ondt on several of the AB of the players. A match where AB sat on large parts of the game, but not Be able to score even on the biggest chances. At the end of the game, Næstved scored on a corner kicks that sailed over the defense and into the goal.

The last time the teams faced each other was actually in a friendly match at the beginning of February 2025 in Storhallen in Næstved. AB won the match with 3 –1. On that occasion, Marco Ramkilde, Frederik Lindgaard and Tobias Hageltorn scored the three goals.

The two teams come into the match without victories in the bag. Næstved lost 1-0 at home to Middelfart and AB played 1 –1 against FremadAmager away from home.

AB and Næstved occupy 5th place and 6th place respectively in the promotion playoffs and both teams have 35 points. So the stage is set for a close and exciting match on Wednesday night.

If AB comes with the same spirit and work ethic as in the match against Fremad Amager, spiced up with some better play with the ball, then there are also points waiting.

Næstved has three players in quarantine for the match: Jesper Overgaard Christiansen, Mark Kongsted and Magnus Häuser Nielsen. AB has no players in quarantine.

Noah Ibsen is looking forward to breaking Næstved’s game and getting to crucial chances:

”Næstved is a strong team. They are good in their structure and they stand well on the pitch. We have The last days of training have looked at how we can break them down and get through.

They stand so compact on the pitch and far down. When we played against them in the hall in Næstved this winter, they were very defensive and lurked for transitions. We have looked at how we can solve this.

We have kept our spirits up in training, and we have looked at both Næstved and ourselves, and what we can do better, especially after the game against Fremad Amager – we hope it gives three points“, concludes Noah Ibsen.

Head coach Joey Gudjonsson is of course focusing on the game against Næstved, but also on the development of the game heading into next season:

”We are ready to play against Næstved tomorrow. We had a really good game last time we played at home against Skive. We were in full control of the game and I really liked the performances that the players made.

The last game against Fremad Amager was not perfect, but we worked really hard and created enough chances to win the game, but it didn’t work out that way. We have to work our way to more stability both in our defense e games and in our attacking games.

It is a completely different team from Næstved compared to the last time we played against them, and we have to be ready for that. They have changed coaches and they want to play a lot more. They want to play to their frontrunners , but also play in the spaces that are in midfield.

We have to take control in our high pressure. They have a physically good striker up front, and we have to be ready when they try to play him.
In our pressure and building our game, we must focus on taking control as much as we can. We must also be aggressive and take control in the defensive situations.

We are not promoted this year, but we have to develop the team and work on the relationships on the pitch. We have to prepare for next season and constantly improve the game.

We will end this season on a positive note with good and energetic play,” concludes Joey Gudjonsson.
