AB Gladsaxe played their second training match today, Saturday 19 July, when Hørsholm-Usserød visited a sun-drenched Skovdiget. The game ended with a 1-0 victory on a goal by Marcus Immersen.
AB had initially chosen to put two teams that were mixed, so the new players played together with some of the established players.

AB’s line-ups
AB had a number of players who were spared after a tough training start. Adrien Koudelka sat out and he was replaced by Marc Dal Hende in central defence on one of the teams.

In the second half, Adam Ingi Benediktsson started in goal, in central defense were Noah Ibsen and Jeppe Gertsen, on left back Frederik Jørgensen and right back Alfred Peter Horup. In midfield were Agust Hlynsson and Søren Ilsøe (captain), on the right wing Osama Murshed and on the left wing Casper Grening. At the very front were Tobias Hageltorn and Ægir Jarl Jonasson.
During the 2nd half, Jonathan Bragason, U19 player Engelbert Owusu and Nicholas Christoffersen (goalkeeper) came on the field.

Summary
It was never a big game for AB. Whether it was the heat or not – it was never flashy. It was an even start with two teams pressing high. AB tried to get on the game and Hørsholm-Usserød lurked for conversions. In the 1st half, some opportunities arose that should have led to big chances and potentially also goals.
Frederik Lindgaard passed to Steven Bala, who played on to Osama Murshed, but at the end the ball ended up in the defence. Hørsholm-Usserød had just two minutes after a very big chance, where they got hold of the ball and played it quickly forward and with a finish that went close past the post.
Steven Bala took a foul committed against himself. He shot directly at the goalkeeper, who parried the ball into play again and then a shot that could have ended up in the goal, but the ball hit the crossbar.

A few minutes later, Steven Bala played a really good ball between the two central defenders. The ball landed at the feet of Marcus Immersen, who ran away from his keeper and acknowledged the fine pass by scoring to make it 1-0.

With six minutes left, a mispass caused a Hørsholm-Usserød player to get completely free and was left alone with Adam Ingi Benediktsson, who averted the attempt.
Søren Ilsøe was close to becoming the scorer after Osama Murshed tipped the ball into the box on a free kick. Here, Søren Ilsøe was completely free and headed, but unfortunately over the goal.

In the 2nd half, there were a few opportunities, but did not result in more goals. Noah Ibsen drove the ball from his own half of the field and put a cross into the box to Ægir Jarl Jonasson, who headed over. Engelbert Owusu (U19) got a good jump-in, where he cheated a Hørsholm-Usserød player several times. He showed overview and had a good shot, which went past the goal.

After 75 minutes, Joey Gudjonsson got up from the coaching bench and gave his team a shout-out in an attempt to knock some motivation into his players. It gave a little more fight. Ægir Jarl Jonasson and Casper Grening played well together, but the goalkeeper managed the finish without much difficulty. Tobias Hageltorn also missed a great chance, just as Ægir Jarl Jonasson missed a good cross into the box from Alfred Peter Horup.
AB generally had a hard time maintaining the game throughout the game. Players often opted for the difficult pass instead of playing the usual quick and accurate passes.

Head coach Joey Gudjonsson was annoyed with the game despite the 1-0
victory” I’m happy with the 1st half, where we create a lot of chances and we could easily have scored 3-4 goals.
I think we played really well in the 1st half, where we played against their 5-3-2 formation. In those moments where we managed to play through them, run down behind them and where we played the ball quickly. But the 2nd half was a disappointment. Obviously, it got hotter in the 2nd half, but it was also hot in the 1st half, and it was the same for both teams.

Hørsholm-Usserød were really good in the 2nd half. They were aggressive, and I think they dominated us in the physical duels. We were too soft and sloppy. The times we had opportunities in the final third, we threw them away through bad decisions and passes. Our back line was way too far back, so we didn’t hold the line. I think the players who came in after the break thought it would be easy.
So there were a lot of things in the 2nd half that I want to compress into a passive performance. I don’t like that and I won’t accept it. It’s a disappointment for me, but we kept a clean sheet and won,” Joey Gudjonsson concluded.

The next training match will be played on Tuesday 22 July 2025 at 18:00 at Skovdiget.
